In 2018 the population of Trigg county was 14,233.  Cadiz is the only incorporated city within Trigg County.

The economy of Trigg County is a mix of agriculture and tourism. 

Education & Healthcare

The Trigg County School System, headed up by the Trigg County Board of Education, boasts a county-wide enrollment of 1900 students.  With 127 teachers, the teacher-student radio is a low 1:15.  Trigg County Elementary, the largest school, features grades K-5.  Trigg County Middle School offers courses for grades 6-8.  Trigg County High School is the home to grades 9-12.  The unique thing about the Trigg County School System is that all four facilities are located on the same campus in Cadiz.

Trigg County is governed by a judge-executive in the Trigg Fiscal Court.  There are also seven support magistrates each representing a district of Trigg County.  The Trigg County Courthouse has a rather unique history.  The first courthouse was about 5 miles west of Cadiz in Warrington and was organized in 1820.  After a couple more courthouses, the fourth courthouse was burned during the Civil War.  Another fire destroyed the next courthouse and most of the downtown area in 1920.  The existing courthouse was built in 1922.

The city's services include fire, police, water, and sewer.  The Cadiz Police Department has a staff of nine police officers patrolling Cadiz, while the Trigg County Sheriff's department patrols the county.  The Cadiz Volunteer Fire Department has several volunteers to help fight fires.  The county has numerous fire stations throughout the county, all staffed by volunteers.   The Cadiz City Hall recently moved into an old historic building downtown.  The city renovated the building, restoring to its original beauty.
