Transportation

Major highways in Livingston County include Interstate 24 and US 62/641.  While there are no airports in Grand Rivers, general aviation service can be found at the nearby Kentucky Dam Airport, about 6 miles west of Grand Rivers off US 641. Commercial service can be found in nearby Paducah, KY, at the Barkley Regional Airport.

Demographics

Livingston County has 9,242 residents (2018 US Census Estimates) and has four incorporated cities:  Salem, Smithland, Carrsville, and Grand Rivers.  Smithland, the county seat, is located about 15 miles north of Grand Rivers.  Salem is approximately 30 miles north of Grand Rivers, while Carrsville, one of the smallest incorporated cities in Kentucky, is about 35 miles north of Grand Rivers.

Education & Healthcare

Livingston County School System contains three elementary schools throughout Livingston County, including schools at Ledbetter, Smithland, and Burna.  Livingston Central High School is located in Smithland, while Livingston County Middle School is located near Burna, KY.

Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services, Inc. is a non-profit Critical Access Hospital.  Care is provided to inpatients, outpatients, observation patients, and swing bed patients by all departments with a variety of diagnosis. 

Government
