Things To Do in Camden

Including Eva & Birdsong Creek

Camden and Benton County, Tennessee is on the western shores of Kentucky Lake.  It is crisscrossed by two US Highways and I-40 runs through the southern portion of the county, which makes Benton County very accessible.  There are quite a few interesting attractions in and around Camden!

Kentucky Lake

As with the entire region, Kentucky Lake is the main attraction in Camden.  Dozens of miles of the western shoreline can be explored in Benton County.  The lake is accessible in many locations including the Birdsong area, US 70, and in the Big Sandy area.

Kentucky Lake is known for it's fishing with abundant Crappie, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.  You'll also find catfish, bluegill, sauger and more.  To find out more about Kentucky Lake fishing, visit our Kentucky Lake fishing reports page.

Camden is also near Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park which is situated on Kentucky Lake and features Pilot Knob outlook, one of the highest points in western Tennessee.

Patsy Cline Memorial

On March 5, 1963, a plane carrying Patsy Cline, Cowboy Copas, Hawkshaw Hawkins and Randy Huges crashed in a wooded area 3 miles west of Camden.  This tragedy will be forever remembered by the Patsy Cline Memorial which is located on Mt. Carmel Road.  Several improvements have been made to the memorial recently, including a new walkway.

Tennessee Fresh Water Pearl Farm & Museum

Located at Birdsong Resort and Marina, 255 Marina Road just outside of Camden, the Tennessee Fresh Water Pearl Farm & Museum showcases the history of fresh water pearls which was once harvested in Benton County. Visitors can visit the pearl farm by boat to see the historic location where John Latendresse grew and harvested these pearls for many years.
