Seasonal Camping at LBL

Applications now being accepted for the 2016 Seasonal Camping Program at Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area. The program allows members of the public to participate in a lottery process to stay on a campsite for an extended period of time through a special-use permit during the March-November season.

Members of the public can apply for one of the 123 campsites in the seasonal camping program. Campsites are available for two to nine months at Hillman Ferry, Piney, and Wranglers campgrounds. Cravens Bay and Taylor Bay campgrounds have a total of 23 one to six months campsites available.

Piney and Hillman Ferry

  • Completed applications due: January 8

  • Drawing for campsites: January 16

  • Piney: 9am at Brandon Spring Group Center

  • Hillman Ferry: 1pm at Grand Rivers Community Center

Wranglers, Cravens Bay, and Taylor Bay

  • Completed applications due: December 31

  • Drawing for campsites: January 9

  • Wranglers: 9am

  • Cravens Bay and Taylor Bay: 11am

The selection process for seasonal site reservations is designed to allow for the maximum amount of participation in the program. All applicants must be present during the selection process, and payment is required in full upon site selection.

Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee as part of the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Agriculture’s public lands program. Land Between The Lakes offers outdoor recreation, lake access, land management, and environmental education to over 1.4 million visitors annually. The Friends of Land Between The Lakes works in partnership with the Forest Service providing program services, funds development, and volunteer support.
