Daily Life on the Farm

Where:  LBL - The Homeplace - 36.6554856,-87.9752916

When:  June 1, 2017 thru June 25, 2017 - 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Contact:  1-800-LBL-7077

June is one of the busiest times-harvesting spring vegetables while tending to summer plants. Daily maintenance of the garden begins in the early morning picking the insects off the plants, hoeing and pulling weeds. Mules and farmers are out in the fields cultivating the crops. In the heat of the day, the family settles in the cool breezeways to do equally important hand work. Warmer weather means easier traveling on dirt roads, so quilting bees and visits with neighbors are more frequent, including Saturday evening's pickin' parties.
