Leatherwood Resort and Marina Location

Situated by picturesque Leatherwood Creek and resting on the beautiful eastern shores of Kentucky Lake, Leatherwood Resort & Marina offers all the amenities for a fisherman’s getaway or a family vacation. Resting on a bay shielded by a peninsula from the main lake, the calm deep waters adjacent to the resort make for excellent fishing and water sports. Boasting one of the deepest bays on the Lake, year round boat navigation is never a problem.

Accommodations

Quaint cottages and log cabins are available for lodging with all of the amenities a vacationer would need. Cottages have two bedrooms with an additional sleeper sofa in the living area. Satellite television is provided. Each unit has a full kitchen completely equipped with cooking and eating utensils. Guests can enjoy the breezeway and have a meal using the grill and picnic table provided.

For larger groups, a three-bedroom cabin is available with a spacious great room that contains a sleeper sofa. The cabin includes one full and one half bath, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Visitors will enjoy the rest and relaxation provided by the covered and uncovered porch and deck.

All units are heated and air-conditioned. Each one is just a short walk from the swimming pool and Pirates Cove Restaurant. Towels and linens are provided. Photos and floor plans can be found on Leatherwood Resort’s website.

Campgrounds

Camping is convenient and easy at Leatherwood Resort. There are 40 full hook up sites available for those wishing to bring the camper or RV down to the lake. The resort’s swimming pool and restaurant are located nearby.

The Marina

Featuring a well-maintained dock, the Marina offers 130 slips in 32’, 40’ and 50’ lengths. Also provided are security gates and up to 50 amp plugs. The bay affords plenty of water depth all year round. An on site boat ramp is available.

The floating store makes it easy for guests to stock up for a day of fun cruising or fishing on the Lake. The resort makes it convenient to fuel up, purchase live bait and tackle, and to fill the coolers with snacks, ice, cold drinks and beer.

Boat Rentals

Pontoon and 16’ “V” boat rentals are available.

Pirates Cove Restaurant

Home of the “Blackbeard Burger,” Pirates Cove Restaurant is a local favorite. Live music is performed on Saturday afternoons during the resort’s regular season. Guests can enjoy the spacious patio overlooking the waters of Kentucky Lake, while taking advantage of the full service tiki bar that serves wine and mixed drinks. The restaurant provides a fun, comfortable atmosphere perfect for meeting up with friends or enjoying a relaxing night out on the town.

Area Attractions

Located near Dover, Tennessee, near Paris Landing State Park and the famed Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, it’s easy for visitors to enjoy many attractions including golf, antique stores, tennis and horseback riding.

For the history buffs, Civil War history abounds at the nearby Fort Donelson National Battlefield. And for those looking for big city attractions, Nashville “Music City USA” is only 90 miles away.
