Moors Resort & Marina to Pass the Torch to Two Local Families

October 1, 2021 | Press Release

After 31 years at the helm, Mark and Kathy Wood have announced that they have negotiated the sale of Moors Resort and Marina. As luck would have it, two Marshall County families are stepping in to keep the tradition alive.

New owners, Josh and Misty Grebner along with Nick and Brittany Tapp are taking the reins as of October 1, 2021. Their plan is to continue business as usual for now until they become acclimated to the operation. Keeping it a family-friendly resort atmosphere is top priority for the two couples.

It is important to know that only the Woods are stepping aside. The entire Staff and Management team currently in place will continue to provide experience and continuity for a seamless transition.

"You know when something just feels right? Well, this is one of those times." Kathy Wood stated.
"The Grebners and Tapps have our full support and we will always be available to them."

Mark said, "We've worked hard for many years to build this resort into Kentucky Lake's premier destination for families and anglers from all over the country. It's time to pass it on to the next generation of lake lovers."

The Woods would also like to express their gratitude for all the support from the community throughout the years.

"We want all of you to know just how special the last 31 years have been at Moors with such amazing loyalty from our neighbors, our county and our visiting guests. It has been a long haul with so many bumps in the road including tornados, fires, floods and this crazy pandemic." Kathy stated

Mark added, "Through it all, we have survived with your support and continued to make Moors a home away from home for so many folks. We hope you all join us in welcoming Josh, Misty, Nick and Brittany to Moors Resort and show our continued support."

Mark and Kathy plan to do some traveling but will always consider Kentucky Lake their home and will remain in the Moors community.
