'Casting for a Cure' To Be Held Saturday
June 9, 2017 | Staff Report
The 17th Annual "Casting for a Cure" kids fishing rodeo will take place at McKenzie City Park Lake in McKenzie, Tenn. this Saturday, June 10th.
The event is free to kids age 15 and under. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with the rodeo hours set for 9 to 11 a.m. Prizes will be award.
The benefit, in its 17th year, is organized by professional fishing and duck hunting guide Steve McCadams. He says promoting the event is a labor of love.
"It takes a lot of work behind the scenes to make it happen each year but it is a labor of love for me and most all the volunteers. Once we see the kids catching fish and sporting big smiles it reminds of us all the efforts are worthwhile."
Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society. Prizes will be awarded.
