The Friends of Land Between the Lakes invite everyone to attend a country wedding on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 11 am to 3:30 pm at the Homeplace 1850s Working Farm, 4512 The Trace, Dover, Tennessee 37058, inside Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. Program included with general admission; ages 13 and up $5, ages 5-12 $3, and ages 4 and under free.
Weddings in the 1850s were important social events in farming communities. Most were simple affairs with the announcement of the wedding spread by word of mouth. The wedding party donned their best clothing and the bride wore her Sunday best or a new white wedding dress. Be a part of this joyous day and witness the exchanging of vows between the bride and groom. After the ceremony, enjoy traditional refreshments and play wedding games to see who will be the next bride.
