Outdoor Kids Fest Scheduled for the Nature Station

Bring the family to Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area for Columbus Day weekend for the Outdoor Kids Festival, Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th, 10 am to 4:30 pm. Admission is $5 ages 13 and up, $3 ages 5-12, and free for ages 4 and under.
“We've planned a fun weekend full of interactive and kid-friendly outdoor activities, including investigating animal mysteries, shelter building and practicing fishing skills,” says Nickolaus Willis, Nature Station Naturalist. “Visitors will learn about critters at campsites, outdoor skills, animal predators and much more.”
Saturday, October 6
> Throughout the day - Meet Smokey Bear
> 10 am - 4:30 pm - CSI: Campsite Scene Investigators
> 10 am – 1 pm - Make Your Own Animal Tracks Guide
> 11:30 am – 12 pm - Bites, Stings and Venomous Things
> 1:30 – 2:15 pm - Kid vs. Wild
> 2:30 - 3 pm - Weather Wizards with Jennifer Rukavina
> 3:30 - 4 pm - Rut and Strut
> 4:30 - 6:30 pm - Can U Canoe - $25 a canoe, does not include Nature Station admission. Registration limited. Registration and full deposit required. Call 270.924.2020. Children must be age 5 or older. Meet at Energy Lake Campground.
