Kenlake Marina: Recent Renovations Make One of the Best Spots on the Lake Even Better

April 27, 2017 | Jamie Sears Rawlings

Every year, Loopers, fisherman, vacationers and lake goers flock to Kenlake Marina as their hub for all things Kentucky Lake and this year, they’re likely to notice a few changes, thanks to off-season renovations done by owner/operators Tim and Mary Province and Mike and Cindy Schugg.

A brand new restaurant and ship store

The crown jewel of Kenlake Marina’s newest renovations is the brand new marina store and Cindy's on the Barge restaurant, which had not seen updates in a couple of decades. According to owner/operators Tim and Mary Province, the new store will feature a better selection of boating and fishing supplies, a large selection of apparel, novelties and snacks and the ability for boaters to buy beer and wine coolers.

For those of you who are looking for a great place to grab a meal, the newly renovated Cindy's on the Barge restaurant now seats up to 60 people for breakfast, lunch and dinner (during season) in an open, modern diner setting on the water. Guests can look forward to further renovations to the restaurant, which will expand outdoor seating and offer live entertainment.

According to the Provinces, the renovations were a top priority in their ability to continue serving their guests as one of the premier Kentucky Lake marinas.

“As new owners we want to provide our boaters and customers with a modern, service-oriented marina,” says Mary Province. “To accomplish this, we needed to update and expand the facilities and amenities as well as improve the selection in our store and the food in our restaurant.”

Further renovations and updates are in the works. Improvements coming soon include updated features for those who plan to stay on their boats awhile, including new shower and laundry facilities.

New rental fleet boats and personal watercraft

Kenlake Marina offers a full-service fleet of rental boats and personal watercraft for whatever your heart’s desire. The renovations added 10 new South Bay 24’ pontoon boats and six new Yamaha personal water crafts to their existing fleet of 16. These new boats guarantee that if your family wants to tool around the lake, soaking up the sun or zipping around on watercraft, Kenlake Marina can make that happen.

The new boat purchases also include something for the fishermen on Kentucky Lake, including two Triton boats and one fishing pontoon equipped with a trolling motor, bait tank and fishing chairs.

Why Kenlake Marina?

At this point, you shouldn’t need any more reasons to choose Kenlake Marina as your vacation or fishing destination hub, but in case you do, check out these statistics:

  • 200 boat slips, including covered slips with 30 & 50 amp power, water, cable TV and Wi-Fi
  • Three-lane-wide boat launch ramp
  • Self-serve dump station
  • Easy lake access to many coves and Land Between the Lakes
  • Less than 215 driving miles from Nashville, Jackson, Evansville, Memphis, St. Louis and Cape Girardeau
