First Day Railroad Stroll 2026

Where:  New Johnsonville - Johnsonville State Historic Park - 90 Nell Beard Rd

It's the first day of the new year! Join us for this stroll through the woods as we cross between historic road bed, railroad bed, and hiking trails. We will see the opening viewsheds of winter over Kentucky Lake, while also passing through historic Civil War era, and Town era Johnsonville, TN.

This stroll will be moderate in difficulty with a few steep inclines over approximately 15 feet, and covering approximately 1 mile in length. We will be doing an out and back hike from our starting point It is recommended to wear closed toe shoes, and appropriate clothing for the forecasted weather. We also recommend that you bring water along during the stroll.
