About Ben E. Clement Mineral Musuem

The Ben E. Clement Mineral Museum in Marion preserves the mineral and mining heritage of western Kentucky through thousands of fluorite specimens, fossils, historic equipment, photographs, documents, and other artifacts. Much of the collection grew from Ben E. Clements more than 60 years in the regions mining industry and includes what the museum identifies as the largest display of fluorite crystal specimens in the United States. Colorful minerals, fluorescent displays, fossils, gemstone carvings, and mining equipment give families plenty to explore alongside the deeper story of the people who worked the Illinois-Kentucky Fluorspar District.
