Wynn to Present at Murray Boat Show

Written by Doug Wynn - Published on January 8, 2020

Hey Folks from the Excel Bay Pro 230 "Fishful Thinking".

The boat show season is upon us and I just returned from the "Let's Go Fishing Show" in Collinsville, Illinois. It was my first experience at a large outdoor show and I left impressed, thoughtful, and worn out. Four days on the road, sleeping in a motel bed, and eating fast food isn't my chosen life but necessary to head off the drop in tourism and bookings many of us have experienced the past couple of years.

The Marshall County Tourism Board elected to rent a block of display area for Marshall County tourism related businesses to use during the show. We were all disappointed that only Brandon Hunter (FLW Pro and local bass guide) and I were the only ones who took advantage of this wonderful offer.

We were well represented by HiTec Outdoors, Precision Sonar, and Corn Field Crappie Gear, all Marshall County businesses that are very well known in the fishing industry and employers of local workers. Chris and Wendy from  Marshall County Tourism were there and a joy to work and spend time with.

The West KY Boat Show begins this Friday at the CFSB Center on the Murray State University campus on Hwy 121 west. I'll be there in my booth right beside the Seminar Area on the 2nd floor. I'll have my Excel Bay Pro 230 with me across from the booth. I will be displaying all my newest gear and electronics as well as my national and local sponsors.

It looks like the weather is going to be too nasty to go to the lake so plan on attending. Come by and we'll talk fishing, boating, pretty much anything but sex, religion or politics. I'll keep my remaining friends that way.

What little I'm hearing from the lakes isn't anything to write home about and if the weatherman's predictions are correct and we get 4++ inches of rain, the lakes are going to be a mess with continued high discharge rates and current. Ill write more about that in my next report.

Be careful out there! See you at the show!

Welcome to our slice of Heaven.
