Captain Kirk's Fishing Report

Written by Kirk Weber - Published on August 1, 2019

August 1, 2019 Air Temperature: Low 64 High 88 Water Temperature: Low 83 High 85 Water Elevation: 357.6' falling (359' Summer pool) Water Clarity: 3' visibility Green stain We enjoyed cooler than normal temps this past week and some good action on Largemouth , Smallmouth, White and Yellow Bass. We had one memorable day where an 11 year old angler caught 28 bass by himself mostly on topwater - Grandpa had a clicker and kept track. The boat had well over 50 fish caught. Lots of fun! Catching decent numbers of yellow Bass and Bluegill for the pan fishermen. Haven't seen much of the catfish although catching a few while fishing for gills. I haven't fished for Crappie but I hear it is slow. The topwater bite has slowed the last couple days but will look forward to it improving when it cools again. Hopefully! Some good sized bass being caught on shallower ledges but not good numbers. If interested in fishing with me on beautiful Kentucky Lake feel free to call. 270-354-6017
