Murray State Homecoming

-The weekend kicks off with A Taste of the Arts, an alumni dinner and auction dedicated to the arts at MSU.
-Following the dinner, alumni will gather for a Swingin' Memories Dance on Oct. 9 from 8-11 p.m. in the Curris Center Stables. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted for Murray State's department of music scholarships.
-Activities continue with the Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct. 10, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to admire the decorative floats created by various MSU and community organizations as the parade heads down Main Street.
-Saturday afternoon offers visiting alumni a chance to watch as the Racer football team takes on Austin Peay State University. Be there for the 3 p.m.kick-off. The 2015 MSU Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned before kick-off.

Hunters Moon Fall Festival

This Famous Festival feature a taste of the lakes food vending area, craft and flea market vendors, Little Mr. and Miss Pageant, children's Halloween costume parade and awards, children's games and activities, live music and dance in Little Lake Park, and the big parade. Each year, the big parade is Santa's first visit to Western Kentucky.

Trigg County Ham Festival

Trail of Tears Century Ride

Distances offered: 100, 48, 32, and 16 Mile starting at 9:00 a.m.
The Trail of Tears Century (100 mile) is an impressive road route that takes you through rural Livingston County. At approximately mile 35, you will travel the original Trail of Tears route, passing Mantle Rock. Then you will ride along the Ohio River with beautiful views and a short chance to recover from the near 3000 ft. of climbing you did in the first 50 miles! Then on to more hills and a very rewarding finish back in Grand Rivers. Riders registered for and completing the 100 mile route will get a special gift after completion of the ride. Event T-shirts will be offered to pre-registered riders only. Make sure to list the size shirt in your registration. Chris Thile in Concert at MSU

You have heard his singing, songwriting and mandolin-playing on public radio for over a decade, whether with Nickel Creek, Punch Brothers, or solo. Now Chris Thile is coming back home to Murray State in a big way, playing a benefit concert Thursday, October 29 at 7:30 pm in the historic Lovett Auditorium. Proceeds from the Chris Thile Benefit Concert at Murray State University will be used to establish a new scholarship fund in the Department of Music through the MSU Foundation.

Chili Challenge and Cornhole Tournament

Where:  Draffenville

CASA by the Lakes will host its annual Chili Challenge and Cornhole Tournament on October 31st, at the Main Pavilion at Mike Miller Park, located in Draffenville.
-The CASA Cornhole Tournament begins promptly at 10:00 AM and will follow American Cornhole Association rules. Registration for this tournament is first come, first serve. A registration fee of $25, per team, applies.
-The CASA Chili Challenge will open at 12:00 PM until 2:00 P.M. A $5 suggested donation is requested per bowl. Each $5 donation also receives one "Crowd Favorite" vote. Each additional "Crowd Favorite" votes may be purchased for $1 each.
-The theme for this year's event is "Battle of the Decades". Participants and the general public are invited to dress in costumes reflecting their favorite decade and take a stand against child abuse during this family-friendly event. Prizes will be awarded.
-All proceeds from the CASA Chili Challenge and Cornhole Tournament benefit CASA by the Lakes.

Opening Night of Grand Rivers Festival of Lights

Opening Night of the Grand Rivers Festival of Lights. Eternal Vision Gospel Group will be performing at the Gazebo at Patti's 1880's Settlement. The lights will turn on at dark. Lights, Lights, and more Lights - decorations include over 700,000 lights in Patti's Settlement and downtown Grand Rivers. The Festival of Lights begins the first Friday in November and continues through the first week of January. Lights are visible at dark each night.
