Photos of Main Span Placement on New Eggners Ferry Bridge

December 1, 2015 - Crews worked before dawn, throughout the day and into the evening hours moving the 5.1 million pound main span of the new Eggners Ferry Bridge.  The 550-foot steel span took hours to get into position as engineers carefully floated the $20 million span into place.  At about 2:00 p.m. workers began to lift the span about 80 feet so it could be placed on top of the concrete piers.

This majestic bald eagle is keeping a close eye on his Kentucky Lake neighborhood. The months of January and February are the best times to catch a glimpse of bald eagles in Land Between The Lakes.
