Kentucky Lake: Water level at Ky Dam - 354.50 Surface Temperature - vary from 42-47 Lake Barkley: Water level at Barkley Dam - 354.45 Surface Temperatue - vary from 42-47 The weather this past week has been overall nice for this time of year with some daytime temperatures reaching into the high 50's. These warm winter temperatures has allowed for some folks to get out and enjoy some time on the water although most of the reports indicate that fishing has been somewhat slow. A return to colder temperatures is in the forecast for early next week with some accompanying precipitation. The Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth Bass fishing is reported to be slow but some fish are being taken. The best bet seems to be fishing the main lake points and first secondary points in the bays with Carolina and Texas rigged tubes in crawfish patterns. The Crappie are being taken near the mouths of the bays along old creek channel ledges by spider rigging with small minnows and small jigs. Most of the reports indicate that the fish are being taken in 12-15 ft of water. Sauger fishing near the canal is reported to be slow but some fish are being taken by drift fishing with 3" curly tail grubs tipped with minnows bounced off the bottom. As reported before I will be traveling around the country this winter giving fishing related seminars. For those of you that have requested my schedule I can only give you the first two shows at this time as the schedule is still being worked out. I will be at the Timonium, Maryland (Baltimore) show beginning on the 8th of January and at the Charlotte, N.C. show beginning on January 16th. I will let you know the dates of following shows as the schedule becomes available.
