National Get Outdoors Day

On Saturday, June 13, in honor of National Get Outdoors Day, Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area will waive admission fees to Woodlands Nature Station. The Nature Station opens at 10am and closes at 5pm.
Visitors can experience the native gardens and learn about the rescued animals in the Nature Station’s backyard. Programs designed to entertain and educate visitors include:
- Cats of the World 11:30 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
- Animal Avengers 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.
- Parade of Raptors 4:30 p.m. - 4:45 p.m. (Everyday)
- Animal Encounters throughout the day

Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area manages more than 170,000 acres in western Kentucky and Tennessee as part of the U.S. Forest Service and the Department of Agriculture’s public lands program. Land Between The Lakes offers outdoor recreation, lake access, land management, and environmental education to over 1.4 million visitors annually. The Friends of Land Between The Lakes works in partnership with the Forest Service providing program services, funds development, and volunteer support.
