Gilbertsville, Kentucky and the surrounding area offers something for everyone, whether you're looking for family entertainment or outdoor adventures.

Kentucky Lake

The community of Gilbertsville is very near Kentucky Lake and is home to a wide variety of lake-related activities. You'll find a lot of waterfront accommodations and marinas, especially around the Bear Creek area.  These bays and inlets of Kentucky Lake offer some of the best fishing opportunities around.

Gilbertsville is home of the picturesque Kentucky Dam which is a popular destination for fisherman and tourists.  Nearby Kentucky Dam Village State Park offers accommodations as well as a golf course, marina, boat rentals and a beach on Kentucky Lake. 

Land Between The Lakes

Land Between The Lakes is a National Recreation Area that is controlled by the US Forest Service.  This 170,000-acre, uninhabited area is a great place for anyone to spend a couple of days or more.  Numerous attractions within the park include the Nature Station, Elk & Bison Prairie, Golden Pond Planetarium, Homeplace1850s, and Turkey Bay OHV Area.

Fun For The Whole Family

US 641 between Draffenville and Kentucky Dam has a few attractions that the entire family will enjoy.  Kentucky Shores has mini-golf, go-carts, ziplines and so much more.  Maggie's Jungle Golf  is another popular destination offering miniature golf as well as a Jungle Run.  The Kentucky Opry has country-style, family-friendly live music shows all year long.

Each spring, usually the first weekend of April, nearby Benton celebrates Tater Day.  This three-day festival features a parade, carnival rides, lots of interesting food vendors, a flea market, and more.  Find more information about Tater Day.
