Girl Scout Day Returns to Woodlands Nature Station

March 16, 2022 | Press Release from Friends of LBL

The Woodlands Nature Station at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area will host its annual Girl Scout Day on March 26, 2022, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and invites scouts and non-scouts of all ages to join in on the fun.

This year’s theme is “The Wonders of Wildlife.” Hands-on activities, a guided hike, crafts, live animal encounters, games, and more will help Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, and Cadettes work towards their respective Wildlife badges. Badge requirements will be completed through a combination of scheduled programs and a series of activity stations that scouts can visit throughout the day. Scouts should plan to spend at least 3 hours to complete all activities.

“We are learning all about plants and animals for this year’s Girl Scout Day and invite everyone to explore the wonders of wildlife,” said Carianne Boehme, naturalist at Woodlands Nature Station. “Participants can learn how to identify wildlife, see where different baby animals call home, join us on a guided tree hike, observe live bugs up close, and even create their own bug to take home!”

Girl Scouts can participate with their troop or individually with a parent and are encouraged to bring friends. Non-scouts are welcome to participate. General admission covers all programs and activities. Admission for the day is $7 for ages 18 and up; $5 for ages 5-17; and free for ages 4 and under. Participants should prepare to be outdoors and are welcome to pack a lunch and make a day of the event.

Seniors and Ambassador Scouts are encouraged to volunteer at Girl Scout Day. Call Carianne Boehme at (270) 924-2299 for more information.
