Lynnhurst Family Resort Features New Management, Updated Amenities

Updated amenities and an inviting atmosphere await guests of Lynnhurst Family Resort, formerly Kentucky Beach Resort, in Murray, Kentucky. Owners Dennis Helmuth and James Miller took ownership of the business on September 1, after the previous owners retired. Since then, Helmuth and Miller have upgraded and improved the facility—starting with the rooms themselves.

Lynnhurst provides a variety of overnight accommodation options, depending on guests’ needs. These include cabins, motel units, condo units and a large family retreat building which can sleep up to 28. Additional amenities are in the works, including wi-fi throughout the facility, a new pool, bait shop, and restaurant, as well as boat rentals and more covered docks.

There are plenty of fishing amenities for anglers, as well. Lynnhurst Family Resort sits on Kentucky Lake, and visitors can fish directly from boat docks, without any need to rent a boat.

Helmuth and Miller took a “back to basics” approach with the resort, including changing the name from Kentucky Beach Resort back to the original name, Lynnhurst Family Resort. They chose the name to reflect their desire of combining modern amenities with a simplistic feel.

“Both of our families come from an Amish background. We want people to feel that they’re taking a small step back in time to a simpler way of life, which is why we want to do things like Amish, home-cooked meals. We want to portray parts of the Amish lifestyle, so we’ll hopefully be doing carriage rides in the future and things like that, as well.”

Ultimately, the owners of Lynnhurst Family Resort want guests to have a fun, relaxing stay each and every time they visit.

“We hope guests say they had a great experience and the management team was extremely helpful and friendly; that it was a relaxing place,” Helmuth says. “Our tagline is ‘cast your cares away’ and our intent is for our guests to experience just that.”
