Eggners Ferry Bridge Opening Day Photos

May 25, 2012 - This morning transportation officials temporarily opened up the Eggners Ferry Bridge to pedestrian traffic from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon to give people an up-close look of the new span.  The bridge opened up to vehicular traffic permanently today at 1:00 p.m. after a ceremony.  The bridge is closed to pedestrian traffic.  Below are photos from today's event including some rather unusual and unwelcome guests!

Honey bees were swarming different parts of the bridge.

These geese float gracefully on a warm autumn day. Honker Lake was actually named for the number of Giant and Interior Canadian geese it attracts.
