Major Highways

Interstate 24
One of two limited-access highways in Marshall County, I
nterstate 24 is located near Calvert City and about eight miles north of Benton.  Interstate 24 runs west to east through Marshall County, connecting the county with Paducah, Nashville, and St. Louis.  Interchanges include the Purchase Parkway and US 62.  See Maps for more details.

Purchase Parkway
This highway is Marshall County's other limited-access highway, beginning at Calvert City and Interstate 24 and heading south to Fulton, Kentucky.  Interchanges include Interstate 24 at Calvert City, US 641 and Kentucky 348 in Benton, and US 68 in Draffenville.

US 62
Running east to west, US 62 is a two-lane highway that serves northern Marshall County, Calvert City, and Kentucky Dam.  US 62 connects Marshall County with Paducah to the west and eventually stopping at Bardwell, KY.  US 62 heading east runs to Lexington, Columbus, OH, and eventually stops at Niagara Falls, New York.

US 68
Another two-lane highway running east to west, US 68 serves Aurora, Draffenville, and Kentucky Lake.  The highway is five lanes in Draffenville for about a mile.  Heading west, the highway connects Marshall County with Paducah and ends there.  Going east, the highway connects Marshall County with LBL, Cadiz, Bowling Green, and eventually stops in Findlay, Ohio.

US 641
Marshall County's third US highway, this major artery connects Benton with Murray, Hardin, Draffenville, and Kentucky Dam.  The highway is four lanes from Murray to Benton, becoming two lanes north of Benton.  The road continues north to Draffenville, where it joins US 68 for about a half-mile.  US 641 then turns right off US 68 in Draffenville and heads to Kentucky Dam.  The road eventually stops in Marion, Kentucky.

US 641 Spur
This four-lane highway serves as a bypass for Benton.  Just south of the city limits, US 641 splits with the four-lane spur heading to the Purchase Parkway and the two-lane regular highway serves Benton's business district.  US 641 Spur stops at the Purchase Parkway interchange.

Kentucky 58
This two-lane highway connects Benton and Mayfield, Kentucky, to the west.  According to some maps, the highway heading east connects Benton and Eddyville.  This is not the case.  When the Land Between The Lakes was created in the 1960s, this route was done away with.

Kentucky 80
Once running through southern Marshall Co., Kentucky 80 has been relocated on a new modern four-lane corridor through Calloway Co.  The roadway still crosses Eggner's Ferry Bridge at Aurora but heads south into Calloway Co. near Kenlake State Park.  Old Kentucky 80 is now Kentucky 402.

Kentucky 95
This two-lane highway once was the major connector for Hazel, Murray, Benton, and Calvert City.  US 641 replaced most of the route.  Now Kentucky 95 begins at US 68 near Draffenville and heads to Calvert City where it stops.

Kentucky 348
Kentucky 348 is quickly becoming one of the heaviest traveled roadways in Marshall County.  A major artery connecting Benton and the Purchase Parkway, several commercial developments have sprung up on this three-lane roadway in Benton prompting state officials' plans to widen the highway to five lanes.  The road continues west from the Purchase Parkway to Symsonia, Kentucky, and eventually stops in Paducah.
