Major Highways

Interstate 24
Lyon County is proud to have two major limited-access highways.  Interstate 24 runs west to east through Lyon County, connecting Eddyville and Kuttawa with Nashville and St. Louis.   There are three interchanges with Interstate 24, one with US 641 in Kuttawa, one with the West Kentucky Parkway, and another with Kentucky 293.

Western Kentucky Parkway
The other limited-access highway in Lyon County is the Western Kentucky Parkway.  This roadway begins near Eddyville at the Interstate 24 interchange and runs to Elizabethtown and Lexington.  The WKP interchange is located east of Eddyville with US 62.

US 62
Running east to west, US 62 is four lanes between Eddyville and Kuttawa.  The road is two lanes west of Kuttawa and east of Eddyville.  US 62 also serves US 641 until the two split about five miles east of Eddyville.  US 62 connects Eddyville/Kuttawa with Paducah to the west and eventually stops at Bardwell, KY.  US 62 heading east runs to Lexington, Columbus, OH, and eventually stopping at Niagara Falls, New York

US 641
This highway uses the US 62 corridor running west to east in Lyon County until about five miles east of Eddyville.  The highway turns north and ends in Marion, KY.  The southern end of the highway connects Eddyville/Kuttawa with Kentucky Dam, Murray, Paris, and eventually stops at Interstate 40 in Tennessee.

Kentucky 93
This major two-lane highway connects Eddyville with Cadiz to the south.  To the north, the highway heads to Smithland.

Rail Service 
Paducah and Louisville Railroad
The line runs to Paducah and Louisville, and serves Barkley Dam and Eddyville.

Air Service 
While there are no airports in Lyon County, general aviation service can be found at the nearby Princeton-Caldwell Airport, about 15 miles east of Eddyville.  Commercial service can be found in nearby Paducah, KY, at the Barkley Regional Airport.
