Asian Carp Below KY Dam

Do the Asian (Big Head) carp below the KY dam get close enough to the shore to shoot with standard bowfishing equipment plus a floodlight? I have been taking regular fishing trips (catfish/bass) to KY Lake for many years. The boat is docked upstream of the dam, and stays at the house. Would I be able to get Bighead Carp at night if my friends and I drove down below the Dam and shot from the shore?

BTW- I will be there May 19-23, and I am suspecting that the common carp will be all up in the flooded grasses for spawning. I am guessing that we will be able to get common carp from the backyard.
